Dear Friends and Supporters,
Thank you for your extraordinary spirit and dedication over the last several weeks. I am honored to have had this opportunity to work side-by-side with you.
We started this campaign together exactly two months ago. We have been going at a sprint ever since. We engaged hundreds of volunteers, raised over $60,000, mailed thousands of pieces of mail and made even more phone calls. In four different languages! And we never dropped off pace. Ten minutes before the polls closed I counted 34 people in campaign headquarters making calls.
Ours has been a unique kind of campaign: a campaign built on grassroots connections, neighbors talking to neighbors, often across town lines. A campaign about trust, based on years of hard work on the ground in our communities, and about the common concerns we share, especially the need to rebuild the foundations of broadly shared prosperity. We have a lot to be proud of.
This was an extremely competitive race. All of the candidates ran strong campaigns. I called Representative Brownsberger last night to congratulate him on his victory. I will cooperate with him in every way I can to benefit the people of Watertown and Cambridge and the Commonwealth as a whole.
I simply cannot thank you enough for your hard work and great heart. I look forward to continuing to serve as your State Representative and to working with you to make government a positive force in people's lives.
Warmly,
Jon
